Q&A

Where did the nickname “Dynasty” come from?

My friends in high school used to call me that name because they found out my birth name Darius means King in the dictionary, so they said in order for me to be a king I needed to build a Dynasty.

When did you know that entertaining was for you?

Well I was told by my siblings, when I was around 4 I used to start singing when they would put on the radio, then my feet would start moving and I would be in my own little world.

Why do you perform? What motivates you? The fans, the adrenaline rush, etc?

I perform because I love making people happy, giving people something to escape to from their daily lives and giving the fans something to believe in, if they can believe in me to bring some joy into their lives then I am happy. I love all my fans.

How did you get involved with Ghoulmaster’s Ghosts at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, NJ? When did you start?

I joined Ghoulmasters’s Ghosts in 2009, I’m one of the original dancers when the show first started.

What was it like working with the cast of the show?

I loved working with the cast; they are all wonderful and talented. We all had our own personalities but when we were putting together the show we just blended.

Do you perform at other venues? Where, and do you have anything coming up?

Well right now I’m in the process of working with a band so my shows will have live music. The venues will be posted up on my Facebook page soon for the upcoming year of 2011. I’m constantly in the studio recording music working on the next projects, or dancing.

What genres of music influence you and your style the most?

I really like all kinds of music, I love classical music believe or not. I try not to listen to a lot of the outside music, I try to keep my mind free of the stuff that’s playing on TV or the radio so I can create a new sound.

How would you sum up your music?

I really can’t put my music into a category, I just create the music and put my heart into it. And I’m honored that the fans enjoy what I do.

Who are your music and dance icons?

I look up too Michael Jackson, Prince, James Brown, Sammy Davis Jr., Fred Astaire, Stevie Wonder the list goes on, a lot of the older entertainers that path the way for me.

What advice can you give to someone, in the local area, who is interested in pursuing music?

I would say you really have to love this business to stick with it. The entertainment world is not easy even though it seems that way in the media. If you love it and you feel this is the only thing you could ever see yourself doing. Then do it! But you have to put in the work!

What can our readers expect from you in the future? Do you have any upcoming projects to be

released?

Like is said before I’m preparing for upcoming shows in 2011 and will be releasing singles in the upcoming months.

To the fans “I Love You” , To the World and Media “You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet”.
